Scanlan is founder and CEO of Total Attorneys, the premier provider of legal services for small law firms. In 2002, Scanlan founded Total Attorneys, formerly known as Infra-Strategy, as an online agency and information-technology management firm. Today, the company provides technology-enabled services to more than 1,100 lawyers nationwide and has 180 employees in Chicago. Total Attorneys has seen revenue grow more than 9,000 percent during the past five reporting years.
Chern joined Total Attorneys in 2005 as president after a successful career as a bankruptcy attorney. From 1997 to 2005, he worked as managing partner of the country’s largest consumer bankruptcy law firm. The firm, which began with only two attorneys, included more than 180 employees in 19 states serving approximately 450 new clients weekly by the end of Chern’s tenure.
The Entrepreneurship Hall of Fame recognizes business innovators and leaders in the Chicago area. Each year distinguished entrepreneurs who have demonstrated entrepreneurial talent by founding and/or growing a local business are inducted.
The award will be presented to Scanlan and Chern tonight at a Gala Awards Dinner at the Chicago Hilton and Towers.
Established in 1984 at the University of Illinois at Chicago, the Chicago Area Entrepreneurship Hall of Fame is the oldest and most prestigious program honoring Chicago area entrepreneurs.
