Brick & Mortar Clients in a Web-Based Law Management Platform
Benjamin Carpenter, of Carpenter Law in Florida, speaks with TotalAttorneys.com's Chelsey Lambert about how he has combined online legal practice management and client connection tools in conjunction with his traditional brick-and-mortar law firm.
Carpenter Law operates in several locations across Florida. They have traditional law offices, as well as a 100 percent virtual firm. They can work with clients locally, or across county lines and anywhere in the state.
At Carpenter Law, even clients who come into the their law offices typically end up working mostly online. The offices contain computer kiosks that move client intake to the TotalAttorneys.com Client Portal. From there, clients can upload and receive documents securely and instantly. "Almost everybody who uses (the online Client Portal) says 'This is how I want to do my interaction. Stop with the phone calls. Stop with the emails,' " says Ben.
Client interaction has been streamlined, as documents are exchanged instantly instead of the several days delay that comes from sending information through the mail. Plus, client information is available to the firm's lawyers from anywhere there is an Internet connection. Many attorneys enjoy this flexibility, but it has also reduced time spent on paperwork management.
