Lavender Law Conference & Career Fair

Last week Total Attorneys visited Washington DC for the annual Lavender Law Conference and Career Fair.

The hall was buzzing with excitement right from the start. Hundreds of law students attended the Career Fair held on Thursday. Students were given the rare opportunity to spend an entire day meeting with law firms from all over the world who are actively recruiting for internships, externships, and various other opportunities. Outside of interview sessions students took full advantage of the many career planning and coaching workshops covering a variety of challenges growing attorneys face.

Attorney General Holder Speaks at Conference

The first day concluded with Lavender Law's Keynote Speaker; Attorney General Eric Holder. Friday and Saturday delivered full days of CLE programming including presentations from Professor William Eskrider, Jr, Yale Law School and Judge Michael Fitzgerald, U.S. District Court for the Central District of Columbia.

The conference program even included a letter from the White House supporting the efforts of the National LGBT Bar Association and welcoming attendees to Washington.

Also noteworthy, was the overall conference expereience; from the heathly and gourmet meal options to the attendee bags complete with free Uber rides and Moleskine notebooks from the BMW Group.

We would like to thank Kelly Simon and the Lavender Law team for putting together a great event and making education fun, while tackling existing challenges and emerging new issues accessible to lawyers and legal professionals.
